Residency One - Exploring Bodies of Work
  • Continuation of Signature's core Playwright-in-Residence program to explore the known and lesser known works of playwrights with major bodies of work
Legacy Program: Signature Series and Premiere Series - Celebrating Bodies of Work
  • Celebrate the lifetime achievement of the artists who have previously worked at Signature, with premiere and signature works

Residency Five -Building Bodies of Work

  • Introducing a new program that will provide an extended artistic home for writers by guaranting them three full productions over the course of a five-year residency.  This unprecedented program gives the writers a rare opportunity to build a body of work
Production and Artists in Residence
  • At the height of a season, 7-9 Signature productions produced under Off-Broadway contract, with up to 7 Playwrights-in-Residence in one season
Making it happen
  • Capital Campaign is led by Trustees Peter Norton and Edward Norton as co-Chairs
  • Signature has received a tremendous amount of support from the City of New York, and we are proud to engage in a truly unique public-private partnership with Related and the City.
  • Fit-out construction began September 2010 and the Center is scheduled to open in early 2012
Economic Development Engine
  • Site is under construction with more than 350 construction workers on site
  • Signature Center will employ 35 full-time administrative staff
  • At the peak of operations, up to 400 playwrights, actors, directors, designers, crew, technicians, and customer service personnel will staff the Center annually.  This does not include outside vendors such as insurance providers, banks, local restaurants and caterers, printers, graphic designers, and other services necessary to operating the Center
  • Attract over 120,000 attendees annually to the Center located on the developing West end of 42nd Street
